After Elon Musk acquired it, X (Twitter) has undergone continuous changes. The latest update protects users’ privacy. Soon, X will not display the “likes” tab on profile pages.
The company confirmed the latest update through their engineers on Wednesday. According to X engineers, they are making the likes section private.
According to the X director of engineering Haofei Wang, this feature is not a good sign for all the users. Many users feel unsafe from liking their favorite content because they fear losing followers and protecting their views.
So, soon, they will be able to like whatever they want without fearing the public. This way, the X algorithm will learn more and become a more productive platform.
Hiding the likes section from users’ profiles does not mean they won’t see who liked their posts. They will see the likes count, who likes their posts, and post replies.
This feature is available for X premium subscribers only, but X plans to make it available to both free and premium users.
This feature’s exact release date is not yet, but it will be available soon.
