According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple won’t introduce a new 24-inch iMac until late 2023 at the earliest. He reiterated his belief that Apple will wait to release a model with the M3 chip, which has not yet been announced, rather than updating the iMac with the M2 chip in his newsletter today.
According to Gurman, a new iMac won’t be released until the M3 chip generation, which isn’t expected to happen until the end of this year or the following year.
The M3 chip may also be used in upcoming iterations of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini in addition to a new MacBook Air that is rumored to debut by the second half of 2023.
The 27-inch Intel-based iMac and the iMac Pro were discontinued within the last two years, leaving only this one iMac as a new option. Gurman has previously asserted that a larger iMac might be released again, but he provided no new information regarding that possibility today.
