WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is developing a new feature that will transcribe audio messages into text. As a result, users who dislike listening to audio messages will be able to read the content of such messages as regular text.
WhatsApp is getting an audio transcription feature. According to WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone includes an audio message transcription feature. The app will recognize what was said in the message and convert it to text using this feature.
At the moment, only the iPhone beta version of WhatsApp has the transcription feature, and it’s unclear when it will be added to the Android app. WhatsApp announced several new features for its app a few days ago.
The company has also been working on a new feature that will allow users to send messages to themselves. Furthermore, WhatsApp is still hard at work on a new version of its macOS app that has been completely rebuilt with Catalyst technology. There is no word on when the new macOS app or audio transcription feature will be available to all users.
