After receiving three complaints about Toxicity and hate in Australia about Twitter – the micro-blogging platform owned by Elon Musk, the country’s internet safety watchdog has given a 28 days timeline to fix the issue of online hate.

If the company fails, there will be a fine on Twitter from the Australian authorities. After Elon Musk’s takeover, Twitter is the most complained about social media platform in Australia. The motto of Elon Musk is “Free Speech Absolutist,” but it is also creating issues for the company in certain regions.

The company lifted bans on more than 60 thousand banned accounts, including those involved in hate and toxicity. The Australian, internet safety commissioner who once worked at Twitter has given the company 28 days to show that company is serious about hate speech.

According to Julie Inman Grant, Twitter is unable to tackle online hate. He said that we need accountability for such issues, and it is impossible without taking some serious steps.
