Before today’s earnings call for the first fiscal quarter of 2023, Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC that the company’s upcoming Apple Pay Later service would debut “soon.”
The Apple Pay Later feature, which will increase Apple’s service revenue, is being beta tested by Apple employees, according to Cook. It will launch soon, according to Cook.
The Worldwide Developers Conference gave Apple Pay Later its first public preview in June. It is intended to enable users to make multiple payments for their purchases, much like PayPal’s buy now, pay later feature.
Wherever Apple Pay is supported, the option to split a purchase into four payments that can be made over the course of six weeks will be available with Apple Pay Later. The Wallet app will be used to manage payments.
