The world’s largest and most used video and music engine, YouTube, paid more than USD 6 billion to the music industry.
The music industry earned this amount in the last one-year tenure (July 21 to June 22). This amount is USD 2 billion more than the same previous period.
Due to the addition of twin ads and subscriptions, the amount will be tripled by 2025. To achieve the goal, YouTube is now monetizing shorts and long video formats, including tracks, live music and other platforms.
YouTube is also expecting watch time to grow on all platforms/devices, including desktops, tablet PCs, smartphones and smart TVs.
