In line with what users can already do in apps like iMessage and Telegram, WhatsApp started working on the ability to edit sent text messages last year. We last heard about the feature in an Android beta version of WhatsApp, and it hasn’t been mentioned since.
The platform is still developing this feature, but this time it will be for the iOS app. User can edit sent messages on WhatsApp As noted by WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone enables the option to edit messages for a small group of users. WhatsApp will impose limitations on users’ ability to edit sent messages, in contrast to Telegram.
The strategy is comparable to iMessage, which also has a 15-minute time limit for message editing. The official rollout, however, may occur very soon given that the feature was just made available to WhatsApp beta users for the iPhone.
WhatsApp updated its iOS app earlier this week to support picture-in-picture for video calls. On the App Store, WhatsApp is free to download.
