It is certainly costlier than Meta Quest 2.

Apple has been silent about its suspected AR/VR headset, but the iPhone manufacturer is planning to launch 1.5 million copies of the face-mounted gadget in 2023 at a price of up to $2,000, according to an Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, as MacRumors reported earlier Sunday.

Apple will unveil its headgear during an event in January 2023, according to Kuo, and the corporation has already shown the gadget to board members.

This initial venture into VR might assist developers and devoted users in becoming familiar with Apple’s gear.

A headset from Apple would compete with the Meta Quest 2 and Sony’s PlayStation VR 2, but at a considerably greater price.

According to rumors, the Apple VR headset will contain 8K screens, eye-tracking cameras, external cameras for a mixed-reality experience, and Apple’s M1 computer processor, which is present in the MacBook Air 2020 and the MacBook Pro last year.

Apple is apparently already working on the second iteration of its AR/VR headset. According to the reporters, the new headset will be released in the first half of 2025, along with a lower and more economical edition.
