Lowe’s home improvement stores now accept Apple Pay as a payment method. While Apple Pay has long been accessible through Lowe’s website and app, the firm has long withheld the feature from its retail stores.
In late December, workers at Lowe’s claimed on Reddit to have received a message on the impending contactless payment and Apple Pay deployment, which was scheduled to start on December 20.
In the MacRumors forums, a Lowe’s customer verified the rollout by stating that he could use Apple Pay at two separate Lowe’s locations in Texas.
Because so many consumers have been requesting contactless payment options, Lowe’s staff members on Reddit expressed their gratitude for the launch news. Customers at Lowe’s have also posted numerous grievances on the absence of Apple Pay in Reddit and the MacRumors forums.
With more than 2,000 locations nationwide, Lowe’s is the second-biggest home improvement retailer in the country, right behind Home Depot. Since Home Depot has yet to accept Apple Pay, Lowe’s acceptance of the payment system may attract more customers than Home Depot’s.
Currently, several Lowe’s stores around the US accept Apple Pay. However, the payment option is accessible through Lowe’s app and website.
