Beelink GS1 6K TV Box for Kodi - Complete Review (Design, Functionality)

“Media streaming box” is the buzzword of the entertainment industry at the moment. Especially if you are someone who loves streaming shows, movies, and documentaries, etc. then you will definitely second us here that yes, these digital boxes are no less than a blessing.

With these boxes, you can easily watch your favourite movies any time of the day, you can watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, and what not! The point we are trying to make here is that if you want to take your entertainment routine to a whole another level, then now is the time to invest in a quality media streaming box.

Speaking of which, choosing the right digital TV box is nowhere similar to walking in the park. On the other hand, it is not rocket science either. It is just that you are supposed to consider some particular factors before you choose a suitable box for your TV. However, after reading this article, you will not have to worry about the hassle of finding just the right box because today, we are going to review Beelink GS1 for you.

All You Should Know About Beelink GS1

Beelink is one of the most popular Android TV box producers in the market. The latest TV box introduced by Beelink is none other than the GS1, and that is what we are here to review today. If you have been using TV boxes for a while now, you might find this one to be a little different. It is different because the GS1 uses Allwinner H6 CPU. For those of you who do not know, the Allwinner H6 is a quad-core CPU running at 1.8 GHz, capable of running all the possible features you would want.

The internal storage of this box is not up to the mark. But you can insert an SD card and increase the storage as per your needs. GS1 comes with 2 GB RAM, and then there is this 16 GB of internal storage, which is more than enough even if you want to play games on it. Out of these 16 GB, 4 GB is used by the operating system of the box, but as said earlier, an SD card can come in handy to you here.

Overall Build Quality

We know you take the build quality or, in other words, “the construction” quite seriously, which is why we are now going to explain that to you. The Beelink GS1 box is made up of plastic, all from top to bottom. The issue with this box is that of ventilation because there are no holes in it, which is why while using, you might feel like it is getting hot.

There is nothing to be afraid of because even when the box is hot, it will not ever turn off or show any lagging. In fact, you can always keep playing your games and watching your movies on it, just the way you want. As far as the ports are concerned, well, this device does not have a lot of them because it is small in size. There are two USB ports, one HDMI out, an SD card slot, and Optical audio. These things are enough for you to connect your box with the TV and stream your shows, so again, there is nothing to worry about.

Performance

At the end of the day, this is what you want from a quality streaming box, right? You want something that is the best performer so that you can get the best value for your money. Well, with the Beelink GS1, there is no stuttering and no lags. You can always play your videos smoothly and enjoy a seamless experience. Then there is gaming, which is also quite adequate for you, and things will work just fine no matter which game you play and no matter which file you open.

The only problem is that with the 2 GB RAM that comes with this box. Yes, you can always easily and quickly open applications on this media streaming box. Yes, you can still multitask on it, but here we are talking about the storage and the memory, which is a little less. We hope Beelink comes up with another model with at least 3 GB RAM because that will work just perfectly for you.

Connectivity

The box comes with a Gigabit Ethernet port. Also, it comes loaded with Bluetooth 4.1, and Dual Band Wi-Fi that you can use for connectivity purposes. We tried and tested the Bluetooth, and it works seamlessly as you would expect. No matter what controller you want to connect to, and no matter how far away you are with the remote, you can always change channels and shows as per your choice.

The issue is only with the Wi-Fi connectivity because sometimes, this box does not pick the Wi-Fi signals. Especially if you keep the box a little far away from the router, you might face a little difficulty with the connection. Our suggestion here for you is to opt for a wired connection. Because this way, you will not have to be frustrated with all the lag and the buffering. Also, you should know that the surround sound of this device works only if you are using the video player of the box itself.

Overall Verdict

Honestly, this box is just perfect for someone who is looking for a device that is a little economical. The Beelink GS1 is a little light on your pocket, and it is ideal for streaming the shows you want. As far as connectivity is concerned, well, you can always find a solution for that. For example, if you just keep the device near the router, it will work just fine.

In a nutshell, if you want something that helps you stream your movies and shows easily and if you want it to be within your budget too, then this box is what you should get right away. It is one of a kind, and we are hoping for Beelink to bring some of such more boxes with improved performance and connectivity.
