Sam Altman, Former CEO of ChatGPT to Lead Microsoft AI Team

Sam Altman, the former CEO of ChatGPT, has joined Microsoft as the AI team lead of the research department.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared the news of his appointment in a post. Microsoft is also a partner with OpenAI, and the famous tech giant has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI.

Despite the appointment of former ChatGPT boss Sam Altman, the partnership between the two companies will continue. Furthermore, Satya expressed his excitement to work with the new CEO of OpenAI.

Microsoft CEO added in his X post that they are committed to continuingng their partnership with OpenAI and have confidence in the new OpenAI CEO Emmett Shear.

Surprisingly, the OpenAI board of directors had no confidence in the leadership qualities of Sam Altman, and he was fired over the weekend without prior notice.

While replaying his firing from the CEO post, he described it as a ‘weired’ experience.
