Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Announced with 15% Faster Speed

Qualcomm announced the new generation of Snapdragon 7, the Gen 3, to bring more flagship and pro features to the chipset.

Qualcomm’s new Gen 3 chip has one central core, the ‘Prime core’ with 2.63 GHz performance, three Performance cores with 2.4 GHz and four Efficiency cores with 1.8 GHz performance capacity.

While comparing Gen 3 with Gen 1, there is around a 15% improvement in terms of performance. Furthermore, there is a 50% jump in GPU performance while it saves 20% power.

In the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, the AI Engine offers 60% better performance per watt. The face detection is also improved in the new chip and works better even in extreme conditions and low lights.

The new generation is also best for touting triple-frequency location support. Vivo and Honor of China will be the first to use Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7.

The first device based on the Snapdragon 7 chip will be announced later this month.
