PayPal to enter Pakistan via third-party app

In Pakistan, around 4 million people do freelance work, and 1.5 million of them do it full-time. This is becoming more popular,  Particularly among young people who are tech-savvy.

After listening to freelancers, the caretaker administration opened up PayPal access to make it easier for them to get paid in Pakistan.

According to the minister, “Although PayPal isn’t directly coming to Pakistan, there’s an agreement in place to route remittances through PayPal with the help of a third-party app.”

Payoneer, a digital payment service, will handle the payments collected by freelancers from other countries and transfer them to the recipient’s local bank account.

It’s unclear how much the company Payoneer will charge for its services in transferring money from PayPal to freelancers.
