Until now, it was impossible to download favorite reels from Instagram and watch offline, but now there is the most wanted to be updated to a Meta-owned photo-sharing platform that will allow its users to download their favorite reels from public profiles.
The download reels option is added below the ‘share icon’ to download directly from the Instagram app; tapping it will bring up a new download option. This feature lets you add downloaded reels to the camera rolls folder.
Currently, this feature is for US users, but it is expected to be available to the rest of the world in the coming days. Instagram head Adam Missouri said that only public accounts’ reels would be able to be downloaded, while private accounts would not be able to do so.
This is one of the most fascinating features released on the social media platform. Maybe Instagram wants to encourage others to promote the app by sharing the Reels more.
