For years, rumors circulated that Nintendo was planning a `Switch Pro,’ which would provide a mid-gen power boost to the device.
At this time, it is assumed that Nintendo cancelled plans for the Switch Pro in order to focus on next-generation hardware.
Following interviews with many unknown developers, DF analyst John Linneman revealed that “some form of mid-generation Switch Pro plansit was dropped along the line.
However, the opportunity for a ‘Switch Pro’ has already gone, and Nintendo should instead focus on a next generation system, maybe a ‘Switch 2’.
It has been speculated that Nintendo avoided the notion of a ‘Switch Pro’ owing to its difficulties with the Wii U.
