First betas of the future iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 upgrades were sent by Apple to developers today for testing; the updates are available the day after the release of iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2.
Apple’s beta testers can access the beta by opening the Settings app, selecting the Software Update section, tapping on the “Beta Updates” option, and switching between the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 Developer Betas. Only registered developers can participate in Apple’s beta testing. You must have an Apple ID linked to a developer account to download and install the beta.
In iOS 17.3, some new features are added, and some are improved. For example, it introduces the Stolen Device Protection feature, which protects your data from unwanted people. It limits access to your personal information even if someone has access to your iPhone passcode. When this feature is turned on, Face ID or Touch ID identity verification is required to access passwords in iCloud Keychain.
Some new features have also been added for improved security. Some features require a one-hour delay to access changing important information such as your Apple ID passcode or your iPhone passcode. According to Apple’s release, all these features will be available sometime in 2024.
