According to sources, Apple is shutting its Northlake Mall shop in Charlotte, North Carolina, following repeated gunshots in the neighborhood. Workers were advised that the business would be closing immediately, despite the fact that it was open on Wednesday morning.

According to Apple’s website, the Northlake Mall shop will permanently close on Wednesday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m., with a new location in the Charlotte region planned for next year. Customers in Charlotte can visit the Apple South Park shop in the meanwhile.

According to Bloomberg, three recent shootings at the mall “contributed” to Apple’s decision to close immediately, which is rare. Employees were unaware of the store’s impending closure as of Tuesday, and the website made no note of it.

The Charlotte store’s move was already in the works and had been planned prior to the closing. Workers will be shifted to the South Park location or work for the online store.
