Microsoft has stated that their two-step verification software “Microsoft Authenticator” will no longer be compatible with the Apple Watch.

Microsoft announced on a support website that a January 2023 update to the Microsoft Authenticator iOS app would remove the companion app from watchOS.

As a result, users of the Apple Watch will no longer be able to access the service via the device.

According to the business, the decision to withdraw the watchOS app is due to the Apple Watch operating system being “incompatible with Authenticator security capabilities.”

Microsoft also advises customers who still have Authenticator installed on their Apple Watch to remove the software because it will cease to function next month.
