With the opening of the trading platform in Steam, players from all around the world (from Europe, the USA, Canada etc) now have the opportunity to make money on their favorite game. For some skins, the price can go up to several thousand dollars. By knocking out one such skin, you can buy yourself, for example, a powerful PC.

Important: When it comes to rare and expensive items, they are often sold not on the trading platform Steam, because you can’t legally withdraw money from there, but on third-party marketplaces.
So how much is the most expensive skin in the game? Since you can put any prices in Steam, we will not focus on single cases. Let’s turn to the skins that are not traded in a single instance, and talk about their price.
What does the cost of a skin depend on
Before we move on to specific examples, let’s talk about a few factors that determine the cost of a particular skin.
- The rarity of the weapon. Obviously, a commonplace weapon will not have a high cost due to its easy availability.
- The quality of the weapon. The “battle-hardened” weapons have significantly more scuffs, which deprive the skin of its beauty. So it is logical that skins in “better condition” will cost more.
- The float indicator. This is the same quality of the weapon, but within each category skins are also different. The closer the float is to zero, the more perfect the skin can be. Collectors are very willing to chase skins whose float is in the top 5 or top 10 in the world.
- Availability of StatTrak. This is typical for almost all skins, with the exception of knives. The thing is that StatTrak is scratched on the blades of knives, and in some cases, the appearance is ruined. But for firearms, having StatTrak adds value.
The most common and shabby skins on situational weapons will cost a couple of rubles, and on extremely rare weapons with a minimum of scratches, price tag will be up to seven zeros.
The most expensive gloves
Let’s start with the most expensive in-game items. Gloves appeared in CS:GO relatively recently – in November 2016. Almost immediately they replaced knives as the main luxury item. If you can buy a cool knife for one or two dozen rubles, then cool gloves will ask for a lot more money.
The most expensive production gloves are ★ Sports gloves | Vice. In their worst quality, they can cost from $673.80, but for the “Factory Only” version you have to pay at least $18376.50. Their real value is closer to $2,051.80.
The most expensive knife
A quality knife is also expensive. The most expensive skin on your “3” button is Waves Sapphire. Because of its rarity and quality, the cost of the knife can safely reach half a million rubles. The most expensive knife in KC is the Butterfly Knife | Waves Sapphire.
Be prepared to pay at least $11.03 for it, and the StatTrak version starts at $13,476.10.
Let’s move on to sniper rifles
A good sniper can make his weapon legendary. For example, after a successful performance at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, Kenny “kennyS” Shrub elevated his AWP | Asiimov called “Magic Stick” to the status of a cult.
Right now, the most expensive AWP skin in the community is the AWP | Dragon Story. Even in its most shabby condition, this sniper rifle is worth at least a quarter of a million rubles. For Dragon Lore straight from the factory, be prepared to pay $9,800.80 to $1,025.90.
The most expensive AK-47
The AK-47 is the weapon that makes the most kills in the professional scene. This assault rifle is notable for its relative cheapness, but its lethality. A single round to the head is enough to kill, and no armor and helmet will help.
The AK-47 Wild Lotus, a beautiful assault rifle with many colors on a green background, will cost you about $1,837.65 for its “battle-hardened” quality. If you want to buy this skin only from the factory, be prepared to shell out $7963.15-8575.70.
The most expensive M4
Let’s take the most common assault rifle as the defense side. Unlike the AK-47, where the player has a choice whether to take the M4A1-S with a silencer and a reduced magazine or the M4A4, the standard assault rifle has been common in the game since its beginning.
Where there is definitely no choice in determining the most expensive skin on the M4, the M4A4 | Woj wins this standing without any options.
A little over a month after the release of CS:GO, the game’s developers were sued for copyright infringement. As a result, this machine was modified, but along with it disappeared from all chests. Now it’s impossible to get it while playing the game. Howl is one of the rarest skins in the game. The cost of this automaton ranges from three to six thousand dollars.
The most expensive sticker
Let’s leave the guns behind and move on to stickers. Yes, traders consider stickers a possible investment. And the most valuable stickers are stickers from the ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014 tournament.
It was the first major in CS:GO history, which is why these skins are so valuable. Another reason for their popularity is their minimalistic design.
Two clubs took the lead: iBUYPOWER and Titan. The first was the leaders of North American CS:GO, but burned on the stakes against themselves, and Titan, being an eminent team, ceased to exist two years after the end of the Majors.
For the regular version of these skins, be prepared to shell out $2,450.20-3675.30, while the price for the holographic versions starts at $18,376.50.
Remember that Valve’s shooter is just a game, and collecting skins is a game of chance. And, as you know, any uncontrolled excitement can lead to bad consequences.
