The previous week, Microsoft announced it would shut down Xbox 360’s online store next year. The online marketplace of Xbox is focusing on subscription services and game passes.

Microsoft announced that the Xbox 360 Store and 360 Marketplace will go down on July 29, 2024. All the Xbox users using the old gaming console cannot download games and purchase new resources.

The post was released on the Xbox official website by Microsoft. However, users of Xbox 360 will be able to play games with the console they already have. Older Xbox 360 consoles will play all the games that are compatible with it.

It is essential to know that Microsft stopped production of Xbox 360 in 2016. In 2017, they launched Xbox Game Pass, a subscription gaming service accessible on Microsoft Windows and company-owned consoles.

According to statistics, Xbox 360 is among the top-selling gaming consoles ever. It is in touch competition with Sony’s PlayStation 3.

Microsoft has sold more than 84 million units till 2014.
