While PS5 support for Discord is still in the works, Xbox consoles have had access to the audio chat service for quite some time. Discord calls may now be controlled directly on the device with the new Xbox Series X/S OS upgrade.

Previously, you had to connect your Xbox and Discord accounts, then open Discord on your phone to transfer a call to your console, which was a cumbersome process, to say the least. The recent update greatly simplifies the process of accessing Discord on Xbox.

You may now join a voice channel from your console by doing the following steps:

  1. Connect your Xbox and Discord accounts.
  2. Go to the Xbox Guide from your Xbox dashboard.
  3. Navigate to Parties & Chats and choose Discord “Join a voice channel.”
  4. Browse the various Discord servers and voice channels and join one.

Before joining a Discord server or voice channel, users will be able to get a preview of their friends who are already there. You’ll also have access to features like noise suppression and Krisp for improved noise cancellation.

BKT Says: This is a huge improvement that will make using Discord on Xbox seem more native and built-in. Hopefully, when Discord hits on PlayStation next year, we’ll see the same thing.
