iOS 16 Notifications: Three Ways to Change the New Design

The new bottom-up style for iOS 16 alerts, according to Apple, is meant to decrease clutter on your Lock Screen. By relocating alerts to the bottom, you may display more of your background. This is especially true for iOS 16, which adds a slew of new Lock Screen customization options such as widgets, depth effect wallpapers, live wallpapers, and more.

This implies that when you upgrade to iOS 16, your alerts will start appearing at the bottom of your Lock Screen. As a result, you can swipe up to see more notifications and easily delete, tap on, and manage notifications per app.

In addition to these improvements, Apple has provided several additional notification customization options for iOS 16. You’ll find three options if you open the Settings app and pick “Notifications.” You may change the appearance of the notifications by selecting one of these alternatives for the bottom of your Lock Screen.

Count: This replaces the Lock Screen notifications with a simple piece of text informing you of the number of unread notifications. Swipe up to get a list of all your alerts.

Stack: This option “stacks” all of the notifications from the various apps. So each app has its own notification group on your Lock Screen and in the Notification Center.

You cannot, however, modify the position of the alerts. There is no option in iOS 16 to return to the “traditional” notification look. Given the new Lock Screen widgets, this makes sense.
