In iOS 16.1, Apple added a number of new features that had previously been unveiled at its WWDC event. Live Activities, a battery indicator for additional iPhone models, and many other features are included.
In a recent YouTube video, Apple Bytes contrasts the battery life of modern and older iPhone models running iOS 16.1. The battery drain test was performed on the iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPhone SE, and iPhone 8 using the most recent version of iOS 16.1 from Apple.
Using the Geek bench, the YouTuber assessed the battery life performance. All iPhones were fully charged and had their screens set to 25% brightness with auto-brightness turned off.
The video shows how long the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE lasted before the battery was completely used up. The battery life of the iPhone XR and iPhone 11 was approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes.
The iPhone 13 received the highest rating, clocking in at a total of 9 hours and 12 minutes. In comparison to iOS 16.0.3, iOS 16.1 does not provide any appreciable battery life improvements.
