The United States has temporarily lifted the restriction on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. It means that the said iPhone products will be available for sale again.
After President Biden decided not to veto the sales restriction, which allowed it to go into effect earlier this week, Apple filed an emergency request with the US Court of Appeals. Today, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted an interim stay, temporarily halting the import ban on Apple Watches. At the same time, the court considers Apple’s request for an entire stay for the duration of the appeal.
Apple has requested an entire stay while the appeal is pending, and the International Trade Commission (ITC) has until January 10 to respond. Following Masimo’s accusations that Apple stole technology relating to blood oxygen monitoring in the Apple Watch by recruiting away its staff, the ITC opened legal procedures against the company.
