Apple’s long-rumored augmented and virtual reality headgear is virtually finished after years of development.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gorman, the device will be announced this spring, ahead of Apple’s annual WWDC conference in June.
Apple apparently shared the headgear with several-profile software developers, giving them an early peek at its new “xrOS” software, showing that a launch is finally on the horizon.
Gurman expects Apple will deliver “Reality Pro” in the autumn after unveiling it in the spring. The last push to get the headgear to market will have an influence on the rest of Apple’s 2023 product portfolio.
On the software front, the next edition of Apple’s iOS operating system is expected to include “fewer big changes than initially intended” because of Apple reassigning software developers to the xrOS team.
Gurman claims that new iPad Pro versions with OLED panels are on the road, but they won’t be available until 2024.
Gurman claims that the whole iPhone 15 series will include Apple’s new Dynamic Island function and USB-C charging.
They will also include new titanium frames and haptic volume buttons in the Pro variants.
