WhatsApp Introduces New Feature to Automatically silence Unknown Number Calls

Now you won’t get any unknown call notifications on Whatsapp as Meta released a new feature that will silence calls from any unknown number. Meta released this feature after getting millions of complaints from India’s biggest market.

Many Indian Whatsapp users complained that they are getting spam calls, which are increasing. The company founder Mark Zuckerberg announced the new call feature and privacy checkup option.

You can turn on this feature by going to the Whatsapp settings > Privacy > Calls > Silence unknown caller. While unknown calls will not bother you but these will be present in the logs. This will allow you to check later and call back if you know someone whose contact is not saved.

When you get a call from an unknown number, Whatsapp will display the number and a message saying, “Silenced Unknown Number.”
