WhatsApp Introduces a Feature for Longer Voice Messages in Status Updates

WhatsApp is developing an AI profile photo editor and other AI tools. At the same time, developers at Meta are ready to launch voice messages as status updates.

The feature was in the pipeline from July 2022, when we first heard about this new feature from WhatsApp. In February 2024, WhatsApp released a voice recording feature for status updates.

The long one-minute voice recording is not rolling out and is ready to use. Users on both iOS and Android platforms can avail of this feature when they update the messaging app to the latest version.

After updating the app to the latest version, iOS and Android users can now send minute-long voice recordings as status updates instead of the previously allowed limit of 30 seconds.

This new feature will help users who send long text updates through status. This feature is in the latest WhatsApp update, so it is recommended that you upgrade your WhatsApp before you start using the new status update.
