Exciting news for Twitter (now X) users! Spaces, the audio chat rooms, just got a major upgrade—they now support live video! This means hosts can now switch on their cameras and broadcast live video during their Space sessions.
The feature, announced by Elon Musk, comes with some cool options. Hosts can choose between front or rear cameras, and they can go live in either portrait or landscape mode. However, for now, only iOS users can enjoy this feature.

But, like with any new feature, there are a few bugs to iron out. Users have reported a lag in chat sessions when video is enabled, and managing a Space in landscape mode can be tricky as the video takes up the whole screen. Plus, desktop users can’t see the video yet.
It’s an exciting development for Spaces as participants can now not only hear the host but also see their video feed during the session. However, it’s important to note that the videos only exist in real-time during the chat. Recorded Spaces are still audio-only for now.
Overall, it’s a great addition to X’s features, making Spaces even more interactive and engaging. So, if you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the time to hop on and join the conversation!
