Starting this week, Samsung will release two major upgrades for Galaxy devices: Android 12L for its earlier foldable smartphone and Wear OS 3.5 for the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Android 12L is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The update is included in One UI 4.1.1, the software that ships with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4.
Android 12L and One UI 4.1.1 introduce a new taskbar experience to Samsung’s large-screen foldable, which significantly improves the experience.
In addition, there are a few new gestures for fast entering multitasking mode, as well as a revised ability to capture selfies using the cover screen.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 4 series is receiving an upgrade to Wear OS 3.5, which includes Samsung’s One UI Watch 4.5.
What has changed? The emphasis is on accessibility, and the built-in keyboard software supports a complete QWERTY keyboard. Samsung also mentions the new watch faces that were released a while ago.
While Tizen is still used, Samsung is bringing some of these new functions to your old Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch Active 2, along with a redesigned watch face and better noise detection.
According to Samsung, all of these upgrades will be released progressively over the next few weeks, with a worldwide rollout beginning this week.
