These plugins can also pull knowledge-based information and take action on behalf of the user.

This feature reduces the AI’s tendency to provide inaccurate responses when answering complex questions, and users can assess the model’s trustworthiness.

OpenAI has extensively stress-tested the plug-ins to improve transparency and safety. The plug-in is in early alpha with limited availability and has been granted early access to a few partner companies such as Expedia, Instacart, KAYAK, OpenTable, Shopify, Slack, Wolfram, and Zapier.
