Google Wallet for Wear OS now shows airline boarding passes

Google Wallet simplifies in-person purchases by facilitating easy money transfers between users, saving credit and debit card information for seamless online and in-person payments, and providing online and mobile payment services.

Google Wallet for Wear OS has taken a significant step forward in the evolution of smartwatches by adding airline boarding passes to its loyalty card features. This latest update builds on the boarding pass-sharing capability launched in October 2023, making it easier for Wear OS users and demonstrating Google Wallet’s progress in wearable technology.

According to 9to5Google, A notification will be sent to Wear OS devices running version 3 or higher, displaying a “View pass” prompt for boarding passes. Tapping on the notification will provide a quick and easy way to view flight information. A QR code will be shown on the screen, which can be scanned at the gate.

The update went live for Google Wallet yesterday, the same day that a Google executive said that Google Wallet for digital IDs would soon spread to other states.
