Google has introduced four new features on various smartphone platforms to assist travelers in finding favorable travel bargains and organizing itineraries.
Google Flights now has a price guarantee badge that will monitor ticket prices “every day until departure” and reimburse the user the difference if the price decreases via Google Pay.
The badge is part of a new pilot program and will only work with flights departing from the US at the beginning. Google Search has a new Stories-style feature for hotel listings that allows users to swipe through a sequence of pictures and view user feedback and location information, as well as a booking button.
Google Search’s third feature displays prices for local tourist attractions and tour companies, with a booking link and recommendations for related experiences. Google Maps’ recent tab for desktops shows recent searches and allows users to save them for future reference or sharing, available globally next week. Other previously seen travel tools like Immersive View and AR-based Live View are also mentioned.
