To shift focus on Reels, Facebook will shut down its live shopping feature from October 1, 2022. Live shopping is a Facebook feature that helps users broadcast and sell products on the platform.

According to Facebook, a Meta company, the reason behind it is shifting its complete focus to the Reels – a company initiative. For your information, Live Shopping on Facebook was started in 2018 and soon became one of the main features for creators and broadcasters.

With Live Shopping, creators can go live and show off products to all the connected audiences. In 2020, the feature was introduced to a larger audience, and the company also created a shopping tab in the app.

At the time when popular apps, including TikTok, are introducing Live Shopping features, Facebook is going back from this; let’s see the development after October 1.
