CloudNordic, the Denmark-based cloud host, revealed that their customers have “lost all data with us” after a heavy ransomware attack on their cloud data center systems. The episode also affected the data backups on its data center systems.

The Danish cloud host CloudNordic says that the attack began on Friday. During the process, the attackers shut down all systems, including their website, email, encrypted system, and other websites.

The notice on the website CloudNordic stated, “The attackers succeeded in encrypting all servers, disks, as well as on the primary and secondary backup system, whereby all machines crashed, and we lost access to all data”.

The notice further stated that we cannot restore most of the data, and unfortunately, most customers have lost all the data stored with us. Throughout the internal network, the attackers got access to the central systems as well as to the backup systems.

At the time of writing this, no ransomware group has publicly acknowledged or taken credit for the CloudNordic host attack.
