To boost the charging speed and endurance, Apple is working on the research and development efforts of the iPhone.
Typically, Apple is outsourcing the manufacturing part and doing the engineering and design in-house, but it is a strange move.
According to ETNews, Apple is working on the experiments of Cathodes, Nickel, cobalt, Aluminum, and manganese.
The new cathode and other chemical mixup means improved battery performance and faster charging.
Apple is also expected to use carbon nanotubes as conductive materials. These CNTs will further boost the overall battery performance.
The ETNews same report further elaborates that the iPhone released in 2025 will be the first device to get these battery enhancements.
