The new Apple iPhone 16 series is now available for pre-order, but the initial sales numbers need to be better. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max is lower than expected.
According to the report, demand for the iPhone 16 Pro has dropped 27%. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is down 16% compared to last year’s Pro Max model.
Surprisingly, the base models, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are performing better in terms of preorders. Demand for the iPhone 16 is up by 10%, and demand for the iPhone 16 Plus is up by 48%.
Although the base models of the iPhone 16 series are performing better in terms of preorder sales, this is not enough to cover the low demand for Apple’s flagship pro models.
According to the analysts, the low demand for the iPhone Pro models is due to the absence of Apple Intelligence. Although Apple announced it at the September event last week, it won’t be available until October with iOS 18.1.
According to the sales report, the iPhone 16 series had around 37 million preorders in its first weekend. This is a significant 12.7% decline compared to the iPhone 15 series.
